Featuring a classic 9,500 rpm V12 engine at its core, and a structurally integrated 400 Kw electric engine to boot, this hybrid supercar was born for driving. The Intrigo features active aero for its downforce and cooling, as well as some of the lowest drag coefficients ever seen on a supercar. Moreover, it features regenerative braking, allowing for extended range on battery use. Lastly, it contains a panoramic sunroof, for minimalist styling with maximum effect.
The Intrigo project is planned as a virtual prototype to test materials and technologies. The design team aimed to create a car that not only performs exceptionally but also pushes the boundaries of what is possible in terms of design and technology.
The technical specifications of the Intrigo are impressive. With a V12 engine producing 730Hp and 4 electric engines on each axle for a total of 1130Hp, this hybrid hypercar is a force to be reckoned with. It features 16 battery cells, a wheelbase of 2754mm, an overall length of 4876mm, an overall width of 2115mm, and an overall height of 1092mm. The front track measures 1680mm, while the rear track measures 1720mm. With an estimated dry weight of 1750Kg and a weight distribution of 43,57 (front, rear), the Intrigo promises exceptional handling and performance. It is estimated to have a top speed of over 400Km/h.
The design of the Intrigo was not without its challenges. The team had to find a way to fit all modes of power into the design while ensuring adequate cooling and a dynamic suspension system. Safety and ease of repairability were also crucial considerations. The front end was designed to be safer in collisions, the weight of the car was balanced, and several airbags were placed around the cockpit to ensure driver protection in the event of a crash.
Work on the Intrigo project began and remained in Montecatini Terme, Italy, due to the pandemic. The location not only provided inspiration for critical aspects of the design but also allowed for a focused and uninterrupted creative process. The project started in 2021 and was completed roughly one year later, with constant analysis of ideas and market impact despite the slowdown caused by Covid-19 restrictions.
The Intrigo is a testament to the power of research and innovation. The design team conducted extensive research, analyzing texts, articles, and interviews with experts, as well as drawing from personal experiences. The objective was to create a design that was abstract and futuristic while remaining practical and trail-blazing.
This exceptional hybrid hypercar has garnered recognition and acclaim in the industry. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Car and Land Based Motor Vehicles Design category in 2022. This prestigious award is bestowed upon outstanding and creatively ingenious designs that authenticate experience and resourcefulness. The Intrigo exemplifies strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
